A virtual tour of the Police College now available
You can now find out about police training and take a virtual tour of the Police College campus online. The Virtual Police College featuring panoramic images and additional functionalities was launched in connection with the KnowHow fair on 21 November 2012.
The tour that can be accessed using a www browser consists of 19 panoramic images taken on Police College campus that the users can pan, zoom and browse. The tips embedded in the images provide additional information on the facilities and the Police College's operation.
Have a peek at the entrance examination, sit in a police car, take a tour of the museum
In addition to the Police College and the Police Museum, the panoramic images also introduce visitors to police training and the application process: in the images of the sports hall, for example, the entrance examination for a Diploma in Police Studies is under way, and by clicking on sections of the image, you can find out more about various parts of the fitness test and watch videos of test performances. In images of the practice area, a training exercise that is part of the diploma studies is under way, and in the driver training track, you can sit in a police car and examine its equipment.
The tour can be taken in Finnish, Swedish and English on computers and tablet devices with Internet connectivity. A permanent link to the tour can be found on the Police College website at www.polamk.fi .
Part of the police e-services project
The virtual tour of the Police College of Finland is the pilot of a national police e-services project (Sähkö).
The aim of the project is to combine the various online services of the police into a single entity. Online services can in the future be used to submit documents to the police and to track the progress of processes of interest to you.
