Police College of Finland organises an international course on the prevention of serious and planned violence

Some 30 police experts from all over Europe will take part in a course on the prevention of serious and planned violence. The course is organised by the Police College of Finland and is held 4 - 8 June 2012. The course entitled Crisis Management and Emergency Planning: School Shootings and AMOK Incidents is part of the activities of the European Police College (CEPOL).

"Topics covered during the course include school shootings, serious acts of violence in other public places, the cultures of hate and violence on the Internet and police actions regarding these phenomena. The aim of the training is to promote the prevention of serious and planned violence through police activities," explains Chief Inspector Peter Sund who is in charge of International Relations at the Police College of Finland.

CEPOL's goal is to promote the development of uniform European police activities and cooperation between police training institutes in the European Union Member States. Each year, CEPOL organises more than a hundred training events in EU countries. The courses, seminars, conferences and expert exchange programmes are aimed at senior police officers, police training staff and experts in the Member States.
