Police University College launches new strategic leadership training program
Starting from autumn 2015, the Police University College will offer a new strategic leadership training program, the Executive MBA in Policing , for middle- and upper-level managers of police units.
“The training will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of police tasks in an increasingly complex international operational environment. The training covers topics such as strategic thinking, stakeholder and international cooperation and EU law enforcement and security policy, as well as financial and human resources management,” says Kimmo Himberg , Director of the Police University College.
The scope of the EMBA training is 80 credit points. The training program will be organized in cooperation with Edutech, the Centre for Professional Development at Tampere University of Technology. The University of Tampere is also a program partner: the participants can select courses from the continuing professional education offering of the University of Tampere, Edutech and the Police University College.
The first training program will begin in November 2015 and continue until the turn of the year 2017 - 2018. A total of 15 - 20 participants will be admitted into the program. Applications for the program are only accepted from police administration personnel.
