Police University College policy on visits and events
The Police University College (Polamk) is restricting activities related to visits and events as part of the Polamk’s preparation for the coronavirus epidemic. All large public events on the Polamk main campus scheduled for the spring have been cancelled, and no groups of visitors will be received until further notice. There will also be changes in the implementation and scheduling of Polamk projects.
The policy will apply to all Police University College premises on the main campus area and other office premises. For example, the Hervanta management mornings event of March has been cancelled, and the international Nordic Police Research Conference has been postponed until autumn. The Police Museum operating in connection with the Police University College will not accept groups of visitors with more than ten members.
The visits of Polamk students to schools and day care centers have been suspended until further notice.
“The primary objective of the Police University College is to ensure that education can continue smoothly and that the study and work environment remains safe and healthy. In other words, at the moment we are emphasizing our role as a national police unit,” Director Kimmo Himberg says.
The Police University College will continue its own teaching and education activities normally. This spring’s entrance exams to the Bachelor of Police Services program will also be implemented as planned, although the participants will be given more detailed instructions on their practical arrangements.
Polamk has earlier specified its practices related to working, travelling and classroom study. Polamk is working in close cooperation with the student and occupational health care, the National Police Board and other police administration units.
