Telephone numbers at the Police College of Finland to change on 30 December
The telephone numbers at the Police College of Finland will change at 08.00 on Tuesday 30 December 2008. The Police College's new telephone exchange number will be +358 (0) 71 878 0121. The exchange will be open on weekdays from 08.00 - 16.15. The College's old numbers that begin with the digits 285 (647 for the Police Dog Training Centre) will be in operation until the end of January. The mobile phone numbers of staff members will not change. In the future each staff member will have a telephone number beginning with the digits 071 from which calls will be transferred to their mobile phone, if necessary.
The normal tariff for local area network or mobile phone calls in Finland will be charged for numbers beginning with the digits 071.
The change of telephone number is part of the general telephone reform by the Ministry of the Interior's administrative sector. The Police College of Finland will transfer to the administrative sector's joint VOIP telephone system on 30 December 2008. The Police Dog Training Centre and the Police Museum, which are part of the Police College, will also transfer to the system on the same day.
The fax numbers and e-mail addresses of the College will change later in 2009. A separate announcement will be made about this.
