Monitoring the corruption crimes reported to the police (KORRIK)

The study uses police records to examine bribery and other corruption-related crimes from 2019 to 2023. Corruption is understood as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain.

The study applies a monitoring methodology developed by the Police University College in the early 2010s. The data is compiled from crime report information from the Police Information System, utilizing crime headings and word searches. The reported data on the content of corruption offences can be compared with similar data from previous monitoring periods.

The study will serve the identification, prevention and investigation of corruption, as well as training, education and development work in this area within and outside the police administration.
