Expanding the authorities’ capabilities for cyber operations (VIKLO)
The VIKLO project advances the authorities’ knowledge base for combating crime in the cyber operating environment. Crimes that utilize the cyber operating environment are often also referred to as cyber-enabled crimes, which utilize information networks and information systems in committing the crimes.
In the project:
- training materials and new research findings intended for authorities are produced
- AI assisted crime is examined as a phenomenon
- citizens are informed about crime phenomena that exploit the cyber environment and about ways to protect themselves against crime threats.
The aim is to strengthen the authorities' competence in cybercrime prevention extensively, both among those working in day-to-day police tasks as well as experts in cybercrime prevention. The project’s communication activities aim to strengthen citizens’ understanding of cybercrime phenomena and their ability to protect themselves from crime threats.
Timescale: October 2024–September 2027
