Immigration, Security, Foresight

The project involves drawing up a report for the Prime Minister’s Office with the aim of increasing cross-scientific know-how and exchange of information across Government departments in matters involving immigration and security. The project will provide the Government with a clearer picture of the current situation and insights into trends relating to immigrants’ perceptions of security and current immigration-related security phenomena. The primary objective of the project is to improve the Government’s foresight capacity and preventive work by the authorities. Other aims include promoting networking between different sectors, and establishing strategic partnerships. The project also supports the development of Finland’s immigrant integration scheme, and the monitoring of the effectiveness of integration measures.
