Privacy statement for persons on the distribution list for the Police University College RDI Newsletter

3. Data subject

A person to whom the Police University College RDI Newsletter is distributed.

4. Purpose and legal grounds of personal data processing

We will process your personal data (email address) to allow us to send a newsletter to your email, and to change or delete subscriptions.

We can also add organisations to the distribution list, which means that the stored information is the organisation's email address. In addition, we can also add stakeholders, such as members of Parliament, municipal organisations, etc.to the distribution list. In this case, the information has been obtained from public sources, and all those added to the distribution list have been notified of being added and that they have the possibility to continue or cancel the order. The processing of personal data is based on your consent (Article 6 (a) of the GDPR).

5. Personal data recipient categories

At the Police University College, your information will be processed by the persons responsible for the distribution of the RDI Newsletter.

We will add the information to the newsletter’s publication system, where the information can also be processed technically by the supplier of the information system. The supplier and the data processors are obliged to protect the information in the service. The Supplier does not have the right to disclose the information to third parties or use it for purposes other than implementing the services for RDI activities at the Police University College in accordance with the agreement.

6. Personal data retention period

We will remove or change your data or your subscription at your request. We can also remove non-functioning email addresses and related information from the service.

7. Right to access to one’s own personal data

You have the right to check your data stored in the subscriber register. Send the request for checking your data to the Controller in writing with your signature (contact details in section 1). In your request, specify the name of the register that the request concerns.

8. Right to the rectification and deletion of one’s own personal data

You have the right to ask the Controller to correct any incorrect information that applies to you. You can unsubscribe to the newsletter by sending a request to be removed from distributions lists via e-mail to [email protected]. If necessary, you can ask for advice from the Police University College's Research Secretary during office hours.

9. Right to refer matters to the Data Protection Ombudsman

If you feel that the Police University College is processing your personal data in a way that is in breach of the law, you have the right to refer the matter to the Data Protection Ombudsman.
