Ethics and open science

The Police University College is committed to good research practice. We conduct research in an ethically sustainable manner and follow the guidelines and principles published by the Finnish Advisory Board on Research Integrity (TENK).

We have signed the Declaration for Open Science and Research (Finland) 2020–2025. Our commitment to the Declaration means, for example, that we promote openness in all of our research community’s activities. The mission of the research communities that are signatories to the Declaration is to improve the quality of scientific research outputs and the educational resources based on them, and the impact of research outputs throughout society.

The publications in Police University College publication series are freely available online in the Theseus service of the Universities of Applied Sciences. Some of Polamk’s research data, such as the Police Barometer data, is openly accessible to and available for use by other researchers in the Finnish Social Science Data Archive.

We develop our operations further in accordance with the principles of open science and research. Police University College has established a working group to promote the development of open science and research.
