The stages of our research and development processes are preparation, implementation and utilisation. This section contains key descriptions and instructions for all those interested in Police University College's RDI activities and those implementing research and development processes.

Planning, ethical review and ensuring resources
Our goal is to implement strategically selected and socially influential RDI projects. Some projects are based on basic funding, while for others external financing is sought.

Implementation and documentation of RDI projects
Our goal is that the objectives of RDI projects are achieved in a high-quality manner, keeping to the schedule and budget. We carry out the administrative tasks of our projects correctly and on time. We communicate about our projects systematically.

Publication and dissemination of results
Our aim is that the knowledge and observations accumulated in RDI projects are collected, expressed and recorded in a manner that best supports their making available to potential users of the data. The knowledge produced by RDI activities serves scientific debate, administrative needs and other public debate.

In addition to the Police University College's own publication series, other publication channels include Finnish and international scientific journals in the police, criminology and security sectors. Information on RDI projects is also published elsewhere than on scientific publication channels, such as in expert and professional journals, blogs and newsletters.
