We educate experts in the field of internal security for both expert and leadership tasks. We also carry out applied research and development work that serves the planning and development of internal security and police operations and the teaching of Polamk.

We are one of Finland’s national police units. Our core processes are teaching and learning as well as research and development.

Our planning is based on our strategy, an analysis of the operating environment as well as performance management and the operational planning process. Our curriculum process includes input from teaching staff, students and stakeholders for the planning of teaching and learning. Research and development are mainly prepared as projects that are dealt with in the Project portfolio management group.
